IN WHITEST SOLITUDE
IN WHITEST SOLITUDE
The Netherlands, 2001, 9 min, color

Everything that exists before and after language is movement; not abstract and metaphysical, but concrete body movement. Language on its own but not completely independent- movement is an instinct that begins with touch and continues with feelings and thoughts. Movement as a symbol of life is the heartbeat of every poem. That's why movement transformed into dance invokes the deepest emotions and thoughts. The film is inspired by Rainer Maria Rilke's poem, from the book Advent, published in 1897.
